The Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta has been over for about a month now, and 343 Industries has been studying player behavior. Changes, they are a-coming. Here’s the basics:

- Surveys from the Halo Community Feedback Program have revealed that 11% of players wanted sprint completely axed from the game. That’s not going to happen, but custom games will allow the host to turn off being able to jog around the map.
- Other Spartan Abilities will be moved to optional status as well. As compensation, players will have faster base movement speed and the top sprint speed will be reduced. Strafe acceleration and ground pound improvements are going to be made as well, so the latter doesn’t conflict with crouch jumping.
- If you were turned off by how “dudebro-y” things seemed with the chest bumps and high fives when you won a match, 343 will be toning that down as well.
- Post death replays are being moved to the optional column. You’ll be able to choose whether you want to see the traditional follow cam or the replay from your killer’s perspective.
- You’ll also be able to turn off the “Spartan chatter” from your teammates’ AI dialogue if it gets on your nerves.
- Changes will be coming to Halo 5’s ranking system. 343 is hoping to do a better job of using the CSR skill system in matchmaking. They also say they’ll be preventing skill boosting and will punish anyone who quit with matchmaking bans and CSR penalties.
