Mortal Kombat X: How to Play Sonya Blade

Even her last name is intimidating.

Special Forces

There’s nothing like a bit of air support when fighting against some of the universe’s toughest warriors. Sonya Blade’s Special Forces variation provides here with some drone support that can be chained into some vicious combos, adding to the flurry of punches and kicks she’s already got ready for enemies.

Covert Ops

Sonya Blade’s Covert Ops stance is perfect for those players who want to tough it out with a bit of fisticuffs. This variation provides Ms. Blade with the means to parry, and counter enemies from pretty much any position. Something that will certainly keep them on the run, and Sonya Blade in control.

Demolition

Sonya Blade’s Demolition variation does exactly what you’d expect it to. Demolition provides Sonya Blade with some grenades, and other explosive techniques to deal with tougher opponents. Some of the attacks require a bit of care when it comes to timing, but, when handled correctly, players will be able to get into some serious juggle action.

X-Ray and Finishers

  1. (Close-range) Down, Down, Back, Forward, R2
  2. (Mid-range) Forward, Back, Down, Back, Triangle

Brutalities:

X-Ray (L2+R2 with full meter)

Sonya Blade’s X-Ray attack is a little tricky to pull off. It requires that your opponent be ridiculously close in order to make contact. It’s a close-range grab with much less reach than other grabs, so don’t trigger this unless Sonya Blade’s and her opponent’s bodies are touching.
