The Witcher 3: How to Find Places of Power in Velen

Temple of Eternal Fire

Recommended Videos

Ok so first we’re going to grab the two lying about in Novigrad, starting with the one most North. Your closest signpost for this one is Elector’s Square, once here, go up the steps towards the tower. Go through the door and out the other until you hit another tower, rinse repeat this process. You’ll come to a courtyard, this is the Temple of Eternal Fire.  Head in a northerly direction and at the very edge of the cliff you’ll spot the Place of Power. Onto the next one.

Heading East to Alness

For the next Place of Power we’re heading east over to the signpost Alness as this is the closest signpost. Don’t worry if you haven’t found it yet we’ll pinpoint each Place of Power on an image of the map. From here you’re heading south east and just to the north of where those three roads all merge together on your map. When you reach here you’ll see it perched at the top of the little hill. Simply climb up the rocks to the right, then jump the ledge over, piece of cake.

Bald Mountain

Ok next signpost we’re hitting is Road to Bald mountain. To access this place of power you must have at least started the quest ‘Bald Mountain’. Until then this place of power is inaccessible. If you have commenced this quest, simply follow the trail up and get to the location pinpointed by the custom marker on the map below.

Frischlow (A.K.A. Wraith City)

From Bald Mountain we’re heading further west and the signpost you’re going to want to travel to is Frischlow. Now for this one we need to warn any low level Witchers. There are level 16 Wraiths patrolling the town of Frischlow so if you can, or you’re travelling toward this signpost try and give it as wide a birth as possible to ensure you don’t get decimated by these beasts. From here you’re heading further south into more swamp. You’ll see a little memorial lit up with a light, when spotting this continue south and you should walk straight into the place of power. Extract it and locate your nearest signpost for a fast travel up north.
