Ark: Survival Evolved has Already Generated Over $10 Million

What's the matter, kid? You never had lamb chops?

Back in early May, a dinosaur themed open-world survival game appeared out of nowhere. Now, less than a month later, Ark: Survival Evolved has already generated over $10 million strictly in revenue since the game’s Steam Early Access release last week.

That’s right, for what it’s worth, the developers over at Studio Wildcard have already moved more than 400,000 copies on their title that not only isn’t finished, but the game’s development costs of $1.5 million have already been well covered.

Unlike the disappointment that The Stomping Land had brought us, Ark: Survival Evolved shows real promise, and we can rest easy knowing that Studio Wildcard wants to bring their very best to the table.

“My personal view is that Early Access should be for games that could be considered nearly complete or where the end is in sight,” Co-founder of Studio Wildcard, Jesse Rapczak revealed in an interview with GamesIndustry.

“80 percent of the main game is done,” Rapczak said, ” with hundreds of hours of gameplay there already. it’s just down to balancing and feedback from the players.”

Ark: Survival Evolved is currently planned for release in June 2016 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
