Update: Silly us! In our excitement over Dishonored 2, we forgot to put up the amazing trailer. Sorry about that!
Tonight, at their E3 conference, Bethesda and Arkane Studios announced Dishonored 2. Granted, this wasn’t entirely a surprise, given that it was leaked earlier this week, but it was official tonight. Arkane’s co-founder Harvey Smith and president Raphael Colantonio. Not only did they announce the game, they showed it off with a spiffy CG trailer.
Dishonored 2 puts players in the Empire of Isles once again. Emily Kaldwin, the princess from the first game, is a playable protagonist this time around, alongside Corvo Attano. Together, they’ll work together to save the world when “an otherworldly usurper seizes the throne”. You can play as whichever character you choose, and you can decide to go guns blazing or make it through the entire game without killing anyone. In the trailer, Emily shows off her grappling powers via cloth (think Spider-Man), manipulation of shadows, and electrical mines.
The news didn’t stop there. Smith and Colantonio revealed that the original Dishonored would be coming to PS4 and Xbox One with a Definitive Edition that contained all the DLC and updated graphics. Their only timeframe for a release date was fall. Dishonored 2, on the other hand, has no release date, but will be hitting both those systems and the PC.
