Bust Up the Fish Market Deal

Just as Black Mask’s goons are about to sell Penguin’s thugs some illegal guns at the fish market Red Hood crashes through the skylight. As you’re given control you’ll find yourself surrounded by 9 hostiles. This is your introduction to the Red Hood.

Familiarize yourself with his move set here. Unlike Batman, the Red Hood isn’t afraid to get lethal. His main weapon, one you will become intimately familiar with, is a pair of dual handguns. The guns can be fired off with a tap of the left trigger, and are used in everything from takedowns to stopping charging thugs in their tracks. You will be putting down a lot of men with these bad boys, so get used to it.

The other tools of Red Hood’s trade are a grappling hook you can put to use in a zip kick that will launch you into an enemy, stunning them–and a flash grenade that can be tossed to stun multiple enemies at once. Both of these items can be selected from the weapon wheel and are used when holding down the left trigger. In truth you will likely rarely use these options, mainly because Red Hood’s guns are too useful.

Once you take down the hostiles more will emerge from a shutter on the left side of the room. There is an electric panel to the right of where you came in that can be used for a takedown, and a red explosive  you need to be mindful of. Taking down these new guys will yield even more thugs who enter from an elevator. Put them down however you see fit, and Red Hood will grab the last remaining guy and interrogate him about the weapons deal. He will reveal that the weapons are being kept at the docks, which you are immediately whisked away to following the scene.

Clear Out the Docks

It’s always the docks, isn’t it? Red Hood starts on a steel girder overlooking a majority of the docks area. Using your Detective Vision will reveal about 11 hostiles patrolling the area. This large section has a mix of indoor and outdoor areas, as well as some grates and vents to sneak around in on the ground level. Red Hood has use of a grappling hook like Batman, but lacks his ability to glide. Adjust your strategies accordingly.

Something important to note is that some enemies here will be wearing bulletproof armor. This is indicated by a purple glow when you enter Detective Vision. Since this is Red Hood’s version of a predator challenge you may not want to be trigger happy anyway. There are also two grates high up here–one in the center structure, and one on the far left wall of the area–both provide a quick escape straight into the lower grates should you need an emergency exit.

To the immediate right of where you start will be a sniper. You’ll want to take care of him ASAP otherwise he will likely spot you if you’re not careful. The best way to do this is to grapple over to the ledge of the central structure and use a Silent Takedown on the thug patrolling it. Slip around to the other side of the structure, and look up on the side of the area where the sniper is perched. There will be some steel beams up there you can grapple to. Do this, and drop in on the thug patrolling here. Put him down quietly and sneak over to the sniper. Dispose of him, and now it should be much easier to take care of the remaining 8 hostiles. Remember that your best bet is the silent approach.

Red Hood will interrogate the last remaining member of Black Mask’s gang for the location of his boss. The thug will inform you that the Black Mask is waiting for you in his downtown office. Pretty obvious really. With the docks clear Red Hood makes his way to take Black Mask out for good.

Red Hood vs Black Mask

This is it, the showdown you’ve been waiting for! First things first, as soon as Red Hood breaks into the office he will be attacked by 8 hostiles. Two of them will be carrying electric batons, so keep this in mind when trying to take them out. Otherwise its a pretty straight forward fight. Build up a solid combo, counter when prompted, and try to end the electric baton guys first.

After you end the 8 hostiles the real fight will begin. Black Mask and five of his closest buddies will burst into the side door, ready to take you down. There is an electric panel directly to your right after the scene that you can use for an environmental takedown. Try not to focus on the thugs too much here, because they will continuously replenish their numbers and endlessly spawn from the doors in the larger room. Even so, you will probably kill a lot of Black Mask’s men in this fight, so be ready.

Your primary concern is Black Mask, so do your best to single him out. Corner him if you can and keep the pressure on him with light strikes. Seriously, straying to focus on any of his thugs is a waste of your time and energy. Also, leaving Black Mask alone for too long will let him load his pistol and try and take a powerful shot at you from afar. Dodging this is pretty simple, but if you focus on him he’ll never even get the chance.

Stop your assault on Black Mask only when another thug gets near. And even then, only break to counter an attack or stop a charging hostile. Black Mask is also invulnerable to takedown maneuvers, so whenever you build one up just use it to take down the nearest goon. He’ll eventually get replaced by another, but at least it’ll give you a few seconds for a one-on-one with Mask. This will likely be a long fight, so be careful. Once Black Mask’s health is done Red Hood will have a few choice words with him and you’ll have beaten the mission. Congrats!
