Halo 5: Guardians is now available and it has once again brought along those ever elusive Skulls. Scattered throughout the 15 mission campaign are these well hidden collectibles that when all collected will earn you the Gravelord achievement.
You will have to keep a keen eye when hunting these down, but to make your job all the more easier we’ve detailed each location for you to quickly earn that coveted achievement.
Mission 1: Osiris
IWHBYD Skull – About midway through this mission you’ll head towards the Forerunner Security Station through a door. Before entering this door, jump onto the ledge to the left of it and follow it to reach the first Halo 5: Guardians’ Skull.
Mission 2: Blue Team
Black Eye Skull – This is certainly one of the most difficult Skulls to obtain due to all of the platforming necessary. Near the end of the mission, the Blue Team will find itself in a reactor room. Use the large pipes and crates in the area to make your way to the top of the room in order to follow a pipe along the top of the same room.
There will be a platform with a “Keep Clear” sign that is exactly where you want to go. Head onto it and locate the floor vent. Use your ground pound ability (jump and hold down RB) to shatter the grating and enter the room with the Skull.
Mission 3: Glassed
Iron Skull – This skull can only be obtained on Legendary difficulty. Use the Scorpion to destroy the Phaeton and then search the Scorpion Garage. It will be located in this room but can appear in a random location.
Keep in mind that you must destroy the Phaeton before it destroys the cargo ship it’s chasing. Lead your shot just like in the image above and you’ll nail it.
Mission 5: Uncomfirmed
Blind Skull – During the mission, you’ll enter an excavation area with a series of pipes overhead. Head onto these pipes (using the platform to your left and working your way up) then follow the path until you have to make a left into a rocky opening. Here is where you’ll find this Halo 5 skull.
Mission 6: Evacuation
Thunderstorm Skull – This particular skull requires you to complete a quick little challenge at the very beginning of Halo 5’s sixth mission. There are traffic cones that you can destroy, and destroy them you must. Destroy five of these bad boys in two minutes or less to trigger the Grunt Birthday Party sound.
That sound means you’ve done what you need to do, so proceed to the end of the level where you’ll find the skull on a bridge. The Guardian will be glowing up ahead, and the skull will be on a bridge leading to a platform.
Mission 7: Reunion
Grunt Party Skull – This one is relatively easy to find. Begin the mission and proceed until you reach the first Covenant encounter. Once there head to a tunnel to your right and follow it to the right. Eventually you’ll stumble upon a Grunt sitting down singing to him self. Push the poor sap off of its seat and there will be your Skull.
Cloud Skull – Continue the mission after collecting the first Skull in the area until you’re almost at the end. Cortana will comment on the Blue Team being the first humans in this area in a very long time. When she does, do not step onto the bridge. Use this time to head to the path on your right and follow it up the hill (you’ll need to keep to the left). Follow the path to its end to find this Halo 5 Skull.
Mission 8: Swords of Sangelios
Mystic Skull – You’ll cross through some ruins during this Halo 5: Guardians mission. Once you exit, climb the pillars that are in the area to find the Mythic Skull.
Mission 10: Enemy Lines
Catch Skull – During this mission you’ll have the opportunity to enter the Kraken (that fearsome foe). Commandeer a nearby Banshee to fly inside and locate this Skull near the Kraken’s Power Core.
Mission 12: Battle of Sunaion
Cowbell Skull – This Skull is found in the area where the Warden appears during the mission. Jump down into the the metal structure at the end of this street to find it. It will be off of a cliff, under where the Guardian is.
Mission 13: Genesis
Tilt Skull – Once again you’ll have to search the area where the Warden appears. In this case, it will be the location where the very first one appears. There will be some rocks nearby for you to search in order to locate this Skull.
Mission 14: The Breaking
Famine Skull – Wardens appear to be a trend when it comes to locating skulls. In the middle of The Breaking a Warden will appear on a platform. Check underneath that platform to locate this Skull (you may want to clear out the enemies first).
Mission 15: Guardians
Tough Luck Skull – While progressing through the mission as normal you’ll eventually reach a ledge that looks over the Gamma Core. Look around this area to locate your final Skull in Halo 5: Guardians. Jump to the other side of the Pelican wreckage near the cliff to locate this beauty.
